About Me

Hello, my name is Jane Dring, born and raised in the UK I now run my English speaking practice for expats in Amsterdam.  Alongside my practice, I am a counsellor for the senior pupils at The British School of Amsterdam.

Prior to my counselling practice I was co-founder of a not-for-profit coaching organisation, clients included local government, community, adolescent services and the criminal justice system.  My coaching practice showed me the severity of trauma, which was what urged me to study and qualify as a counsellor.  I have a keen interest in anxiety and trauma.

Previous to 2010, I spent 17 years working in a number of high-pressured roles in the apparel industry, living as an expat in three different countries. This personal experience enables me to understand the journey that an expat life can bring; the positives, the challenges and the bits in between.

I feel honoured doing the work that I do, to hold a safe space for my clients, where together we work through the hurt, anger, sadness, not feeling good enough or what it is that you bring. To share with me what you have maybe never spoken about or to share your hopes for the future.  Clients often tell me that I am easy to talk to.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am very passionate about adhering to the BACP ethical framework for the counselling profession.
